    Visit Fort Myers and Lee County reported parking closures for Ian restoration beginning September 8, 2026 (about 11 months): Bowditch Point, Little Hickory, and Bonita Beach Park lots. Beaches may remain open with pedestrian access. Lynn Hall parking construction is listed through about spring 2027. Confirm on the conditions page.

    About 25–35 min (traffic-dependent)

  • Fort Myers Beach (Visit Fort Myers)

    About 35–50 min (traffic-dependent)

    Gulf beaches on Estero Island. Several park lots are in Ian restoration — beaches may stay open with pedestrian access while parking is closed. Check beach conditions before you go.

  • Sanibel & Captiva

    About 40–60 min plus causeway (traffic- and toll-dependent)

    Bowman’s, Lighthouse, Blind Pass, and other island beaches are listed on the Visit Fort Myers conditions page. Confirm parking lots and causeway plans there.

Day trips (a bit further)

Reasonable same-day Gulf drives from inland Cape Coral if you leave early and watch traffic. These are not walking-distance beaches.
